SSWS 2014 in Italy at ISWC 2014
SSWS 2014 is the tenth edition of the successful Scalable Semantic Web Knowledge Base Systems workshop series. This workshop provides a forum for discussing scalability issues for the Semantic Web, with the focus on the development and deployment of knowledge base systems for processing Semantic Web data.
We expect that scalability issues are going to challenge the Semantic Web for a long time and significant effort is needed in order to tackle them. This workshop brings together researchers and practitioners to share their recent ideas and advances towards building scalable knowledge base systems for the Semantic Web.
As in previous years the SSWS workshop is co-located with the International Semantic Web Conference (ISWC 2014) at Riva del Garda, Trentino, Italy.
The workshop will be held on October 20, 2014 as a half day event. For more information about the venue please check the ISWC conference venue page
News:
Best SSWS 2014 Papers Receive Opportunity to Submit to Journal on Data Semantics!
In consideration of the review results the SSWS organizers will nominate at most two papers to a fast track treatment of the Journal on Data Semantics dedicated to ISWC workshops. Note: A likewise track was provided at ISWC 2011 and led to a journal publication of a SSWS 2011 contribution about Query Extensions and Incremental Query Rewriting for OWL 2 QL.
Workshop Topics
The workshop will be centered on the discussion of three major aspects: 1) foundations, methods and technologies for pushing forward the state-of-the-art; 2) performance evaluation and related principles, methodologies and tools; 3) identification of important issues and future research directions. Topics of interest for the workshop include, but are not limited to:
- Semantic Web repositories
- Reasoning mechanisms, techniques and systems
- Query evaluation and optimization
- Performance evaluation and benchmarks
- Distributed knowledge base systems
- Large scale knowledge base management
- Semantic Web-based information integration
